Police earlier Friday asked Naugatuck residents to wear pink during a tree lighting Saturday night or display pink lights throughout the town in honor of Camilla’s birthday. Naugatuck police honor murder victim Camilla Francisquini by wearing a bracelet with “Justice for Camilla” on it. “We are grateful for our strong relationships with all of our law enforcement partners and especially proud of the Waterbury Police Department in this instance,” said Joseph Altimari, supervisory special agent of the FBI. By Friday evening, all of the billboards displayed the word “CAPTURED.” The agency also increased its reward for information leading to his arrest from $10,000 to $25,000 on Tuesday. The FBI had placed digital billboards advocating for Francisquini’s arrest on Interstates 84, 91 and 95. “It’s through us and through working with the community that we’re ultimately able to take Francisquini into custody,” he said. McAllister also took the opportunity to recognize and thank the law enforcement partners since the original incident on Nov. “They are going to continue to carry with them this case probably for the rest of their lives,” he said. McAllister said members of the Naugatuck Police Department worked around the clock to locate Francisquini after Camilla’s death. “We hope that they can breathe easier knowing that this violent criminal has been taken into custody and he’s off the streets.” “Nothing can ease the pain that the family is experiencing as a result of the tragic loss of their child taken from them far too soon,” he said.
